SilkPeel is a way of gently removing the stratum corneum, which is the dead, outer protective layer of the skin. It provides a bit of a barrier to the sun and anything that comes into contact with the skin, but it also gets in the way of absorption of beneficial products as well as skin turnover to promote skin metabolism. There are different ways to remove the SC. At Advanced Dermatology Care, we have chosen the SilkPeel which is an enhanced brand of hydrodermabrasion.

Hydrodermabrasion uses water in conjunction with a diamond tip to gently exfoliate the skin. It is adjustable from extremely light to very aggressive so that we can tailor the skin care treatment to the individual and their goals. This allows us to simultaneously infuse products that can hydrate, lighten, tighten pores and reduce acne or fortify so that the procedure is really 2 in one. Even the most sensitive skinned individual may benefit from a silk peel that has been adjusted for their skin type.
