Sciton MicroLaser Peel (Erbium)

The Micro Laser Peel is the next generation skin treatment beyond microdermabrasion or chemical peels, and is extremely effective skin rejuvenation. This procedure is a superficial exfoliation resurfacing skin treatment. MicroLaser Peel is a smoothing or polishing procedure for the skin. The goal of the skin treatment procedure is the removal of damage with the intent of improving the vitality of the skin. Deeper skin treatments yield more significant improvement, but also have more downtime for healing. Uneven pigmentation, fine epidermal lines, actinic keratoses, and keratinization are significantly improved.
The depth of this type of peel is specifically controlled by the energy of the Erbium:YAG laser, and is predetermined by evaluation of patient’s desires and treatment goals and the physician. The Erbium laser provides for ultimate precision in skin resurfacing, allowing the operator to set skin treatment parameters for as superficial as a 10-micron epidermal ablation to deep surgical skin resurfacing. MicroLaser Peel is the newest and most effective way presently available to treat accumulated sun damage and aging skin without the downtime of deeper surgical skin resurfacing.

Sciton Profractional Resurfacing

What is ProFractional?

ProFractional is a quick laser procedure with little downtime, used for improving the overall appearance of your skin.
ProFractional uses a laser microbeam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin. And because only a fraction of the skin is directly treated with the laser, healing time is quick and downtime is short.

What skin conditions can be treated with ProFractional?

ProFractional can be used to improve a wide variety of skin conditions, but is used most for:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Post-traumatic scars
  • Acne scars
  • Age spots
  • Sun spots
  • Freckles
  • Aging and sun-damaged skin

How does the ProFractional laser work?

ProFractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin invigorate the body’s natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities.

Who should consider a ProFractional treatment?

If you are looking for younger-looking skin, or to improve scars, wrinkles, or sun damage in a comfortable skin treatment with a fast recovery, then you may be an ideal candidate for ProFractional.

What areas can be treated?

Most skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and hands. You should discuss your needs with your physician.

What is a ProFractional procedure like?

ProFractional is a fast, comfortable skin treatment procedure done in your physician’s office. The procedure normally takes 15 – 30 minutes depending on the condition and the size of the area treated. A numbing is applied in advance to aid in comfort during the procedure.

How many ProFractional treatments will I need?

ProFractional is typically done in a series of 1 – 4 skin treatments, spaced 3 – 6 weeks apart, depending on your needs. Your physician will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. Your physician may also combine ProFractional with a MicroLaserPeel or other popular aesthetic procedures to further enhance your treatment results.

What should I expect after treatment?

Immediately following the skin treatment procedure you may experience a mild redness, resembling a light sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes only about 1 – 3 days and most patients can get back to work and apply makeup within 1 – 2 days after the treatment. It is important to follow your physician’s instructions which may include some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be more sensitive to ultraviolet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. You should always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.

BBL (Broad Band Light/Protofacial)

You might know this type of skin treatment as Photo facial, Fotofacial, or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Essentially all these therapies use the same Light principles to improve the appearance of photo-aged skin, remove age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called Photo Rejuvenation for face and body.

BBLTherapy helps restore a more youthful appearance with virtually no patient downtime. It is a new technology (last 10 years) that restores a smooth even-toned surface to your face, hands and chest. Today’s active lifestyle doesn’t leave much time for recovery from a cosmetic dermatology procedure, which is why this therapy is one of the single best skin treatment technologies for overall skin improvement. Sciton BBL can treat a wide variety of skin conditions:

  • sun damage
  • flushing
  • redness
  • broken capillaries
  • brown spots
  • age spots
  • sun-induced freckles on the hands, chest, and face
  • broken capillaries around the nose

In the weeks after treatment, the shattered melanin particles are eliminated. Little or no trace of the initial lesion remains. The treated vessels deeper within the epidermis are reabsorbed by the body in much the same way.
